Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I manage a team of 10 people in the hotel sales office. We coordinate all meeting and Events business for the hotel. along side bedroom reservations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I hav done this job for a long time, this program has given me a new perspective and tools to manage my team more effectively to get the best out of them.

Both! It has been great to learn more theory based tools that I now have at my disposal to implement into my daily tasks.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel it is really well structured, we always know what our next module will be. Our pre and post session work is set well in advance so we know what is expected of us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have an onsite mentor who I can go to at anytime needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our trainer is absolutley amazing, she really inspires us in our sessions and pushes us to think in new and fresh ways. We also have 3 monthly check ins with our training provider, alongside our mentor to discuss our progress and any areas of difficulty.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification has given me more knowledge and prespectives to apply to my work. It has been brilliant for my development and I know have tools to use to back me up, rather than just going with my gut feeling.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, regular socials and development opportunities. We also have an annual awards which is highly anticipated event that we all really look forward to.

Why?
I feel really supported in my role, I never thought that I would complete a foundation degree at my age but I am so grateful for the opportunity. I have a wonderful team at the hotel and feel really happy coming to work everyday, knowing that I make a difference in the success of the hotel means a lot to me.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The QHotels Collection?
Be yourself, personality is everything in hospitality! If you work hard and want to push yourself there are many avenues of progression open to you throughout the company.
