My job involves home care. I help elderly people with perosnal care, housework, meal preparation, moving and handling, shopping and other activities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I very much enjoy being a carer. I find peace in what i do, Being able to help people and make their day easier and better is something to be proud of.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed many skills since i have started my job. Making person-centerd care plans, using different types of hoists and slings, recognising early signs of dementia, strong communication, active listening, risk assessment, record keeping, medication and many more.

Its is very well structured and cover almost all areas of adult care, including physical, mental and emotional care.

It definitely helps to perform better in practical field. it has given me immense knowledge about healthcare and dementia. Knowing laws and policies helps in decision making. It has given me knowledge about everything that is needed to become successful and more skillful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes. We have social visits for playing board games or helping them coloring and sometimes tea with families and clients.
Other then that we have Hub, where people get involved in games, planting, physical fitness, baking, coloring, singing, dancing and mang more fun activities.

It is an excellent organisation. Senior moments not only provide healthcare services, it also work on emotional well being of all service users and staff. Person-centred care is provided for every single service user. They are free to choose times of their visits and activities for themselves. Clients are treated with love and care and our manager and staff go above and beyond to help our clients.
Staff members are paid very weel and on time, and treated with immense respect.

If you want to join senior moments, you need a positive attitude, a jolly nature and ready to make a difference as a member of staff.
