Talent and Apprenticeship Development Partner Review

I lead the development and delivery of talent, apprenticeship, and learning strategies across The QHotels Collection, ensuring our people are equipped with the skills and opportunities to grow and succeed. My role spans the full lifecycle of development, from designing scalable programmes and building strategic partnerships with training providers and education bodies, to delivering impactful initiatives that align with business objectives and drive measurable results. I work closely with senior leaders to shape succession planning, enhance our employer brand, and create engaging learning experiences that support both operational excellence and long-term career progression. Through a focus on innovation, consistency, and colleague experience, I aim to strengthen engagement, retention, and performance across the organisation.

The programme is well organised and clearly structured. Each module is delivered via a webinar, followed by an assignment, which creates a consistent and manageable flow to the learning. Being part of an open cohort has been a real benefit, as it’s provided exposure to different organisations, ways of working, and perspectives. The VLE is also very helpful, with easy access to resources, reading materials, and guidance to support each stage of the programme.

I feel very well supported by my employer. The QHotels Collection is genuinely committed to apprenticeships and ensures that off-the-job learning time is protected. My line manager is also very supportive, encouraging me to take on new opportunities that enhance my learning and allow me to apply my development in a practical way.

I’ve received a high level of support from my training provider. My tutor at Reed Learning has been very supportive and always willing to offer additional time if needed, with dedicated 1:1 sessions that feel really valuable. The progress reviews are also particularly helpful, as they give clear direction on what I need to focus on next and keep me on track towards completing my qualification.

The qualification has definitely helped me broaden my knowledge, particularly in areas of HR that sit outside of my day-to-day role. It’s given me a stronger understanding of the wider people function and how it supports the business. This has been further enhanced by the support from my employer and line manager, who have given me opportunities to take on new projects and gain exposure to different areas, allowing me to apply what I’ve learned in a practical and meaningful way.
