Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I have completed 3 placements and an exit role within different areas of the business, carrying out Project Management activities.
For the 5 year scheme, I completed 4 days 'on the job' within placement, and 1 day 'off the job' at university per week.
Some of the placements have been more engaging and developing than others, for example during my second year I was at home for a full year and found this really challenging when trying to develop my skills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I mostly enjoy the programme. I think the placement and university split works well, and I think we are treated well as apprentices within the organisation.
One negative would be that I found the allocation of placements hectic at times, and felt as though I was put in any team without any real involvement in the process.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have developed my project management knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout the scheme.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
I don't believe the programme has been well structured or organised. The reasonings for this are:
1. I have had 6 different skills coaches throughout my apprenticeship, who were put in place to help support and guide me through my apprenticeship journey. Although all of these skills coaches were helpful, the quick turnover within the role caused a strain on the coaches fully knowing about my experiences within the business.
2. The End Point Assessment period was made to be very hard work with tight timescales due to security requirements. This could have been planned better to prevent rushing at the end.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I think apprentices could benefit from more regular contact with the early careers team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Some lecturers were more supportive than others.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I believe it helps me perform better in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are many.
