Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My original role saw me reviewing IT requests sent in from different areas of the business. My job was to communicate with the customer (requestor) to gather further information where required, and work alongside my team to decide whether to approve these requests or reject them.
My current role involves reviewing engineering documents that are stored on our system and making changes to them based off requests that are sent in.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I am content in my job as it is not too overloading or tough to learn. However it is not my ideal job role therefore I don't feel like I am getting the absolute most out of my placement. My roles however have helped my improved on numerous core skills - such as written/verbal communication, confidence & general IT skills.
I am enjoying the university side of things, attending in person is good and the curriculum has been enjoyable so far. We have just concluded the programming foundations topic, which is what I am wanting to pursue further down the line.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have developed my written and verbal communication very well alongside my confidence in speaking, particularly to new people. I have developed general IT skills such as learning to navigate new systems.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is well organised in the sense that everyone will have a taster of many different areas within the business.
The only negative I would say is not all the available placements are within the IT department itself, so I don't think apprentices will gain the most knowledge from these placements.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive all the support I need from my employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive all the support I need from my training providers.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Currently the degree content is fairly unrelated to any work I have done up to now, but I know there are placements available where it will come to great use.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are a few that I have heard of but not got involved in any thus far.
