Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am currently in a 24 month exit role placement. However I have been in 3 other placements as part of my apprenticeship. I am working in a support project management role, focusing on the management of risks, schedules and overseeing the programme from a support perspective.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my role and the programme I work on. It keeps me interested with work, I am constantly working on something new, and the demand of work is high

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
As part of my apprenticeship I am constantly learning new skills, and developing new skills as part of my apprenticeship. The skills are mapped within the apprenticeship KSB standard

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is organised and structured well. The team I work on maintain a good structure and the organisational skills are high
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Constant support from my team, the programme, and the company as a whole. If I need support with anything including internal or external to work, the company has support systems in place.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Good support from my training provider, constant support and push to help me reach my goals and ensure that I successfully complete my apprenticeship
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps me to perform better because my qualification helps provide a reflection for my work. As they both focus on project management anything I learn in University helps me to support my work in placement
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I get involved in stretch activities which have included working in schools, high school students or college students coming to our work to learn what we do and how they could get involved within the apprenticeship and further supporting new starters starting their apprenticeship providing them support and information

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company is brilliant for their staff. The apprenticeship is a great way to get started in the company, a degree paid for by the company which supports the role, the pay for younger employees within the apprenticeship is a great starting wage whilst also still in education and working, and further the support from the company has been brilliant
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Stay true to yourself, it's just as important that you enjoy your role and what you do for the company, stay motivated and seek support when required as everyone in the company is there to help each other.
