Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I worked in R&D testing new products and chemicals to see if they could be incorporated into the products we already have. I tested these using a variety of different equipment.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I lead my own project with support of my coordinator and line manager.

Yes, I have learnt new laboratory skills that I had no experience in when I first started. I was also able to learn how to use different equipment. I developed my interpersonal and report writing skills.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement, there is not anything I would change as I was put into a team that I fit perfectly into. I was able to work on projects that I had no experience in but learnt new skills to be able to get my work done.
