Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Role can have great variety depending on current placement. Currently within project controls focused team, day to day of monitoring project progress and performance, regular meetings with engineers, resolving issues and development of key PM documents such as risk register, BoE and more
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme is good, with having 4 placements throughout it allows you to experience a variety or roles available to you within the business, covering a broad range of skills. Early careers are helpful and supportive. University is alright for getting an understanding of theories and methodologies but most of my learning has come from work based experience. University can feel repetetive.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Learnt a wide range of skills key for project management, Planning and scheduling
Resource management
Financial control
Risk and issue management
Stakeholder engagement
Leadership and team management
Communication
Decision-making and problem-solving
Change control
Monitoring and control
Continuous improvement

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Good structure to the programme with the annual placements and 2 year exit role. Seems organised and not thrown together.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Placement managers always very supportive, early careers helpful with general apprenticeship support and wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Good support received from university although lots of things unable to be changed due to contract arrangements.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Allows me to understand the theories and methodologies around project management but doesn't allow much for it to be put into practice. Does sometimes feels like we are going over the same information but worded differently sometimes.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Social opportunities through teams, and early careers teams that organise events for apprentices
