Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a PM Degree apprentice, I spend one day a week studying at university working towards my level 6 degree. The remainder of the week is spent on placement through yearly rotations. Currently my role involves, key event enablement and critical issue resolution working with stakeholders to ensure we deliver all requirements on time. Daily, I pull data reports and input into dashboards for project status, update enablement packs to be shared to stakeholders and shadow my manager for any further learning opportunities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Overall, the apprenticeship scheme is very beneficial to my development and journey through the start of my career. There are many opportunities to develop and gain experience through placements, stretch projects working with schools, travel opportunities and further examinations. The university aspect is not on par with the support the company provides which is definitely an area for improvement in the delivery of learning from the university.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed a full range of project management skills through university learning and placement on the job learning. I have also developed my technology skills, working with new softwares and improving my current skill in microsoft packages.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I feel there could be some improvement with organisation of co-delivery between the university and the business and alignment to send a collaborative message. The training plan structure is easy to follow and provides an understanding of the apprenticeship scheme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Placement managers and skills coaches are extremely valuable when providing support. Ensuring workload and wellbeing is good and always pushing you to develop yourself and opportunity to experience and see new things.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I feel the university delivery can be improved to support learning of content and feedback mechanisms for assignment work could be more specific, highlighting specific areas to improve not a generalised comment. Information distribution can result in mixed messages from various tutors, providing confusion and little clarity when completing assignments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that all content is good and relevant to understanding and can be applied to placement work to feel more confident in role. Some aspects of learning are quite repetitive and maybe over emphasised considering the amount of use within role may be minimal.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I am aware of social activities and events going on for the apprentice community and engage in social events with my team. Professional networking events are also communicated.
