To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The program material showed me a lot of behind the scenes scenarios, that were not directly part of my job:
Various health and safety checks on a daily or weekly basis.
Booking in deliveries.
Taking part in stocktakes and investigatying discrepancies.
I loved the challenges, and variety.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Definitely learnt new skills. I finally got my till training, and could see a little bit more how trade desk or deliveries operate.
I loved the goods in department, where I could book in incoming stock.
Also I could fine tune my skills on the shop floor too with organising, being responsible for setting up monthly promotions instead of just taking the instructions for it.
Ordering promoitional stock, checking that they will be delivered on time was great too.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program itself is well organised from the theory point of view. But, turning into practice is far more difficult, see below.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Some employers have no clue really how to support someone doing the apprenticeship. So often I felt being left to my own devices with very little guidance from my employers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider was always available, mainly by emails, but they replied quite quickly. Also, after the monthy online sessions they were happy to answer questions, help with problems or give gudance where it was needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It absolutely helped me. I worked on the shop floor before,and now I am at the trade desk. As the majority of the course work involved trade desk practice, I felt more familiar with the system, by the time I got the position there as a job. It was still hard to learn more, but without this background it would have been harder.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not much really. Professionaly there is next to nothing, apart from the compulsory refresh trainings in various topics. Socially, it depends on the people. If someone is into organising any activities, then they happen otherwise not really.

No
Why?
I would only recommend it to people who already had some retail background. Otherwise, there is not much help to learn. It's often the case, that you have to pick up things on your own.
