Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
My role involves liaising closely with design consultants, contractors, and the client to coordinate activities and address new challenges as they arise. On a day-to-day basis, I support project delivery by helping manage design coordination, commercial and programme-related tasks, and contributing to problem-solving to ensure the project progresses towards successful completion. I have been given a high level of responsibility, which has helped me develop strong leadership skills and grow significantly over the years.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I have thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship programme. It has provided excellent opportunities to take on responsibility, learn new skills, and progress professionally while working on live projects. I have particularly valued the people I have met, the support I have received, and the breadth of knowledge and experience I have gained throughout the programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Through my apprenticeship, I have developed a wide range of both new and existing skills. I have strengthened my leadership and sense of ownership by taking on greater responsibility within my project, while also improving my organisation and communication skills through regular coordination with multiple stakeholders. I have enhanced my problem-solving abilities by responding to live project challenges, alongside building strong technical knowledge in construction. In addition, I have gained experience in contract administration, programme creation, design management, and commercial management, all of which have contributed significantly to my professional growth.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is well organised and structured, with sufficient training provided to support both academic and professional development. The degree content is clearly relatable to my day‑to‑day role, which helps reinforce learning through practical application. I have also had consistent support throughout the programme, with approachable managers, mentors, and colleagues available to speak to whenever guidance or reassurance is needed.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer, including strong guidance from managers and colleagues, regular check‑ins, and opportunities to take on responsibility while being supported when needed. This has helped me develop confidence and progress throughout the programme.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
My training provider has been supportive while working towards my qualifications, offering clear guidance on coursework, accessible tutors, and structured learning that aligns well with my employment. Support is readily available whenever clarification or assistance is required.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
The qualification strongly supports my performance in my role, as the course content is closely related to my day‑to‑day responsibilities. This allows me to directly apply academic learning to live projects, reinforcing both my technical understanding and practical skills.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Yes, there are plenty of extra‑curricular activities available, including social events and professional networking opportunities. With a large community of apprentices and graduates, I feel I haven’t missed out on the social side of university and have been able to build strong relationships alongside my professional development.
