Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an EDAS apprentice my role includes working in a placement with different teams on certain BAE products. I work 4 days a week and have 1 day at University and I am also expected to complete a L4 Diploma in engineering and Manufacturing as part of my apprenticeship. Day-to-day I go into the office, have meetings with my manager and different teams and work on many different tasks.

I have learnt lots of new skills such as CAD and System Modelling.

BAE is really supportive of my development and learning and offer lots of different opportunities for development. They also support me as a person and offer any help they can via the skills coaches they have for the apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have many social activities for apprentices. I am involved in a regular 6 aside football and badminton we have also done other social events such as go karting and paintball.

Its been a great experience so far, worked on some exciting projects and met some great people.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
take your time when answering interview questions, make sure you have relevant experience such as engineering work experience or have engineering based interests.
