Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As an EDAS Apprentice each working day is different, depending on the team and business area. The work can range from solving problems, making decisions, speaking to colleagues, learning from old projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The scheme encourages growth and opportunities to outside the normal daily role

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed many new skills, from communication, planning, methodology to solve problems, accountability, discipline etc. Alongside soft skills are the hard skills of learning new software, toolsets, coding, design, manufacturing, research, documentation etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The programme sounded brilliant for our group. Level 2, Level 4 then Level 6. Spent time in the training facility, then currently on various placements and then an exit role for 2 years. It is the internal processes which are constantly changing and leaving areas for uncertainty and confusion, leading to internal discussions.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
There is a large team of support, from skills coaches to managers. Everyone is available to help but not many will have an answer or different responses.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Support from the college is available, although not well received from an assignment perspective. Feedback can be missing or very generic, the briefs change and are sometimes very unclear.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It provides an insight into the areas of aerospace engineering that I can be exposed to. If provided fundamental knowledge and some application. I see very little link from college to work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are many extra curricular opportunities, such as STEM, new projects, social activities and professional events and associations.
