Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I do rotations around the business and do a different sector 6 months at a time, for 3 days a week I do actual work whereas for the other two days is uni and diploma work which is working from home.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the work load and the friends I have made, unfortunately the wage increments (which we only got to see after working here for 6 months) are a lot lower than the previous years and make it very hard to put money aside and treat yourself even when living in a spare room in another persons house.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed a lot of skills such as cad, matlab, communication, and leadership skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
At the start of the apprenticeship there was not much structure, but after we started our placement 6 months in it is a lot better.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Managers have always been there when I've needed them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Very good, we have a full day dedicated to university and during reading weeks managers let you do university.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helps me get a very good understanding.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there's the LAC which I have attended outside of work to play sport.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If you live local I would recommend, If you want to move for this job do not expect to have any money leftover at the end of the month until the final two years when you might have a bit to treat yourself. The job needs to help with accommodation, they do not.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Either have financial support from your parents or already live local as the salary does not give you the freedom you deserve to have at a young age.
