Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am training to become a nursing associate, this involves off the job learning, placements in different areas and places. going to the university to learn and also protected learning time allowing me to learn in my place of work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying the programme as it is giving me the chance to learn and gain further knowledge to be able to work to the best of my ability. Although it is a challenge, I feel that it is beneficial to gain knowledge and progress.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned about different areas of work and the roles that different nurses play. I have been to placements and have learned about social prescribing, public health, complex needs, dressing changers and how different areas of the hospital work, I am also learning about medications and safe medicate as well as carrying out tasks such as injections, dressing changes and wound checks, sterile procedures and carrying out observations and knowing when to escalate concerns. The NA must always work within their scope of practise and follow all guidelines and procedures

I have a supportive manager and practise assessor and have been given my learning time as and when it is needed.

I feel very supported, I have always received an answer when I have emailed regarding a query.

I now view my work differently. I now understand why I am carrying out tasks and can also explain and guide others as well as learn from others.

There are social events organised sometimes and there has been a friday lunchtime walk that has been organised recently.
