Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My lifetime coach comes to my store every 4 weeks ensuring i’m up to date with all my learning, if I have any questions and there to support me. As I work in retail, no day is the same. So far, i’ve done areas such as the front end, stacking shelves and tidying. My favourite part is definitely speaking to the customers. I would describe myself as a people person and a good part about having a customer service faced role is you get great conversations with different customers.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I’m glad i’ve started this apprenticeship with Lifetime. They ensure i’m getting enough support and cater towards my needs. For instance, they provided a 1 to 1 call for me to let them know if I need any adjustments within the role. They are so supportive and i’m very grateful for them. I would not change a thing about this programme.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

100%. Doing this apprenticeship has made me a better person in general. For example, i’m not shy when a customer approaches me.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Every month, my coach comes to my store and we discuss what i’ve achieved and anything I need help with. She also makes sure i’m up to date with the tasks due.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Amazing support. My coach is only a message/email away and If I need to contact her I can and she gets back to me.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5 Great support! She makes sure i’m not behind and if I need any help with a module she goes through it bit by bit ensuring i’m happy and not confused.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Lifetime has helped me become more confident when speaking to customers. It has also helped me develop important workplace skills such as communication, teamwork, and professionalism.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, our community champion at our store hosts local raffles and community sells for the team but also customers.

Lifetime go at my pace which I love and they also cater to my needs. For example, I’m slow with my reading and processing, so they arranged a 1to1 call for me to talk to someone to make future changes.
