Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am currently in the college workshop 16 hours a week, filling metal. When I am not in the workshop I am completely reports and projects
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The filling is repetitive and as I am in college it doesn’t necessarily feel like a job, more like a course I am attending

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I learnt how to work with metal and mechanical systems, create reports, create projects, many essential behaviours

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Initially poorly structured but it got much better, however there was recently confusion on who is leaving college and progressing and who isn’t. They initially said it was who did the most work, then they just picked a group.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We receive a lot of support and it is regularly offered
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Some tutors aren’t are absent for long periods of time and it can be disruptive to our learning and reports
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I learn lots with the paper work but I get little support from the college tutors although the BAE tutors offer help much more regularly
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are some events I think but they are often not well advertised
