Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to support our staff with their future development. I facilitate and deliver on corporate induction as well as organising and running a conversation club to assist with confidence in spoken English. I also lead on coordinating functional skills provision for staff who need it.
The other side of my role is to support with the trusts widening participation agenda - leading the work experience programme and supporting schools and teachers with providing insight into the NHS through assemblies and insight days.

My Learning and Development Practitioner apprenticeship helped me to find out more about my role and understand the theory behind creating engaging programmes for adults.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Through my apprenticeship I developed skills that I had learned over my previous career in training at an animal charity and learned new theory to support my role.

My employer were keen to fund and support me through the apprenticeship programme, ensuring that I had protected time to complete my off the job learning.

My role does not include a lot of training creation but i do get to consider feedback models in my daily work which is really helpful..
