Overall, how would you describe your experience at Unilever?

Overall, my experience at Unilever has been very positive. I have had the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, science‑driven environment where innovation and continuous improvement are strongly valued. The role has allowed me to develop both my technical expertise and wider skills, while working with diverse, supportive teams across different functions.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

My role involves developing and validating assays, running manual and automated experiments, analysing complex data, and communicating results to a range of stakeholders. I particularly enjoy problem‑solving during method development, working with automation and digital tools, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver practical, high‑impact solutions.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Overall I feel supported and motivated.

I feel the role is preparing me very well for my future career. It is building my confidence in automation, data analysis, problem‑solving, and communication, while giving me experience that I can clearly see supporting my long‑term progression.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I am consistently developing both new and existing skills through a combination of formal training and hands‑on, day‑to‑day work. The role allows me to apply what I learn immediately, particularly in areas such as automation, data analysis, and problem‑solving, which has made my development feel continuous and purposeful. I have previously completed a Management and Leadership course and am now undertaking a Data Technician apprenticeship to further develop my skills.
