Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I am currently within my first rotation undertaking an HR apprenticeship in Howden's early careers team, and so far it has been an engaging and dynamic experience. On a day to day basis my role involves supporting the planning and delivery of events such as insight days and internships, communicating with candidates both in person and over the phone and coordinating logistics.
I have also contributed to content creation highlighting Howden's culture aimed at attracting future talent. Alongside this I have assisted with administrative tasks, data tracking and general support and my role has greatly helped me develop confidence in communicating and managing responsibilities under time pressure

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
My apprenticeship has exceeded my expectations in both the experiences and development I have had so far only within the first month of my programme. I have been trusted early with real responsibility and have been given amazing opportunities to contribute to meaningful work rather than observing before applying myself.
No two days at Howden have been the same, from supporting the team at insight events, engaging with candidates and other professionals here at Howden, and promoting our early careers programmes, my time so far has been a great balance of both hands-on application and learning how a professional environment operates on a daily basis.
My team have played a big part in shaping my experience, I am surrounded by supportive colleagues who are willing to guide me and help me learn from my mistakes, but who also encourage me to take initiative and step outside of my comfort zone. The support network I have had so far has already helped me increase my confidence in such a short span of time.
The work environment at Howden has also been amazing, everybody is willing to talk and to know you as an individual better, whether it has been booking coffee chats with people in entirely different departments or within HR itself, everyone is curious and open.
Overall my programme has been extremely rewarding and enjoyable alongside being impactful.
