Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
Day to day involves meeting with stakeholders to gather requirements for new projects, and plan out solutions to improve current processes. An example would be understanding a current formulation design process and devising a way to implement machine learning to provide data driven decision making to scientists. Another key element is PowerBI, helping to maximise insights from the vast number of Excel spreadsheets maintained by teams.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
The programme is great, in my experience I have learned much of my University work through my Unilever work, allowing me to succeed academically by practicing new theories and research within my day to day job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

4/5
Many new skills have been learned, specifically:
PowerBI
Python
UX Design
Application Deployment
Machine Learning
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
The programme is very well structured, with University topics typically being practiced within my day to day role, allowing for a deeper understanding than simply going to University alone. The modules are relevant to your day to day job

How much support do you receive from your employer?

4/5
We receive one day per week to go out of office and study for our University, alongside the ability to speak to line managers for help if needed

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
We have lectures once per week on the study day, as well as a review every three months with our provider and line manager to check that everything is going smoothly. If we are extremely busy with work then it is understood by the University and extensions can be given for submission deadlines

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
The qualification has been great for improving my performance in my role, since all topics are relevant to my day to day job - or help to prepare me for further progression

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
