Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Each day is different. In product development most days involve lab work making up product and tasting it. Days occasionally involve teams calls but are limited. Within supplychain days involve a lot more team calls and data analysis. Days are flexible and not set to 9-5.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy working here. The team are amazing, social and very supportive. The programme is run well with a day to study each week helping to ensure work can be completed for university. Days are diverse which keeps them interesting.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The role allows me to improve my confidence with presenting as well as learning to use online data bases, spec writing and lab skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is really well organised. Our study day is honoured allowing me to study and complete assignments. The ability to rotate also increases the amount of experience and multifunctional experience I receive. Management are supportive in helping me find opportunities and ensure I can manage study and work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am always supported within my role and given time to complete university work. Within my role I am also supported to ensure I am coping with the work load and learning new things as well as receiving some unique learning opportunities and experiences. I feel encouraged at work and am given responsibility and ownership of projects and my tasks

The course is beneficial and touches on points beneficial for my role however there is often a lack of overlap between content and my role. I am sure there will be more overlap as the course goes on.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are many opportunities for extra-curricular activities. Site has many sports teams including netball, football, run club, cricket and more. Social activities include bake-club, art club and many socials occur outside of work between work teams and friends. Opportunities for networking are also frequent between different functions

Why?
Unilever is a great place to work, site in lovely, the staff are social, supportive and fun. Unilever have a good pension scheme, flexible working and training opportunities.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Be self-aware, and confident in your abilities. Be willing to learn and acknowledge areas you may have room for improvement for.
