Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
1/5
Copy and paste infomation to create assignments.
Once a week, we work in the engineering workshop and complete booklets filled with projects to complete.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
Almost zero guidance given.
There were no tutors for the first 6 months.
Most of the time it feels like we are doing a lot that has nothing to do with our trade.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
I have been taught on how to turn on the machines that we use within the workshop and to be turned off. However most of the time I have had to rely on myself or other apprentices to complete the work.
For written assignments, we just copy and paste information from Google without fully understanding it.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
For the six months we did not have any tutors.
It seems people running the course do not know what to do.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
When issues are raised everything seems to fall on deaf ears.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
We have to rely on ourselves. Nest to no guidance is given.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I don't feel like I am learning my chosen trade. Completing assignments and projects that have nothing to do with Steelwork.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
No
Why?
Poorly ran and managed. Only reason to work here is for the money. I would recommend if you are desperate for the money.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
You work here for the money not to learn anything.
