I work with qualified electricians on site completing a range of commercial and industrial work across many different sites, I have been train3d by these electricians to complete my role in the team effectively and efficient

I have learnt all my basics and advanced electrical knowledge. From installing sockets and lighting to large scale containment

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel the college can be lacking in structure and feel the course has been lacking in areas but work have supported me through this and I’m developing well now
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Work make sure that I am on the right jobs to allow me to learn and to complete my portfolio, also give me time and support to complete these. While I was recovering from a shoulder injury they ensured that I was on light duties for many months after so that I could heal properly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Earlier on in the course I feel the support was more lacking from the college, as I am nearing the end of my course I am now recovering support to complete my portfolio
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel the practical skills I was taught in college are slightly out of date due to no power tools and practices that are rarely used these days and I was not taught a lot the course spectrum due to a bad teacher . The theory side was helpful tho as it has helped me understand the way things work and how I can make the install compliant to regs or design
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Each year we have a Christmas party where we do an activity and go out for a meal afterwards. I have also done a go karting with the other apprentices.

They are a good company to work at as there is a nice working environment and they allow you to learn a lot and use these skills
