Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
BAE Systems is an excellent place to work and one I would confidently recommend to friends and family. The apprenticeship schemes provide a high level of personalised support, ensuring learners are well supported both professionally and academically. The work undertaken during placements is genuinely value‑adding, contributing meaningfully to the business while also supporting personal development. There is a strong, embedded culture of respect across teams, with experienced professionals actively recognising and valuing the talent and potential of those coming through the apprenticeship programmes.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
My top tip for applicants is to thoroughly research the different business areas and apprenticeship schemes, as there is a wide range available and each offers a unique experience. Taking the time to understand BAE Systems’ values and behaviours is really important, as it helps ensure the company is the right fit for you and that you align well with the organisation. I would also strongly recommend attending any in‑person or virtual open events, as these provide valuable insight into the company, the roles on offer and the application process. Finally, be prepared for the application process itself – it can be quite lengthy, both in terms of completing the application and waiting for outcomes, so allowing enough time and being patient is key.
