Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was given a project at the start of my internship to analyse the suitability of a lending policy and come up with recommendations to present to senior leaders at the end of my internship. I used SQL and Excel to develop metrics and PowerPoint to build a presentation of my findings
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
This internship provided a very high level of responsibility relative to my position. The outcome of the project I was given had genuine importance to the business' customer acquisition strategy. I was given lots of support but also lots of independence and ownership over my work

I was provided with a buddy, mentor and line manager as well as access to the early careers team to support me. I was also working within a team, all of whom were happy to provide support. We were also provided with skills development sessions, from coding to presentation training

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture and atmosphere was very good. There was an expectation that you work hard to improve your skills and reach out for support but we were encouraged to take breaks and not work long hours.
There were plenty of social events including meals and a theme park trip.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
During the internship I was given ownership of a project and plenty of development opportunities. There was also plenty of opportunities to socialise including a company festival. I enjoyed the internship greatly
