Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The course content and the skills we are learning are good but the organisation of the apprenticeship is appalling. Certain classes we have to attend that do not relate to our qualifications or work, are ridiculous such as behaviours.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have improved my knowledge and skills within the work shop here and through engineering theory sessions.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
From the beginning there has been complete lack of organisation, no communication between the college and Bae Systems, the representatives of BAE in the college don't want to hear anything about it when you go to ask them anything. We have been left in the dark regarding the future processes and progression of our apprenticeships, the path which we have to work through and what to expect.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
No matter how much you try and work through to get the information you need, when you are based in college, they don't make it any easier to access your BAE systems account when all the laptops are in SASK and not college.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Same issues
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
None

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It has the potential to develop into a good career, earn a good living and keep you interested
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Structure the apprenticeship and the induction process properly well.in advance of candidates arriving, not right before it. Create a clear plan of the apprenticeship so the new recruits can see where they are going with the qualification.
