Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I am currently an apprentice and I attend college once a month and I do 4 x 6 month placements. I am currently in my second placement at BAE Systems and I do administration tasks for my team in the Procurement area

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I took the lead on supplier calls and work packages in my previous placement. I am now in a new team and learning the ropes, but hopefully will have set tasks that I will take responsibility for.

A lot, the skills coaches are very supportive and offer guidance when required. We have set college days and assignments and receive feedback on our assignments.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I have no concerns at the moment. Everyone that I have been in contact with has been friendly, approachable and supportive.

What advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems

Be yourself and don't be too disheartened if you don't get in the first time. Use the interview process as experience and if you apply again you will know what to expect.
