Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I have worked in all aspects of recruitment helping with compliance, checking visa's, I have worked in early years recruitment recruiting for apprentices and grads. I now work in supply helping hauliers, suppliers, store and depots with booking deliveries and stock issues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have rotated around several departments and expanded both my network and my experience, building skills across a range of areas and being able to work with new technologies. Having hands on experience in recruitment and operations.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have many skills such as working with suppliers and hauliers, developing both written and verbal communications. I learnt how to spot mistakes in orders and learnt how to balance stock in store. Become aware of myself and the development that I need to work on.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme gives me flexibility to see different aspects of the business and therefore has a looser structure however this works in my favour as it it allows me to develop in many areas and seeing where my skills best suit.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieve support in helping identify areas of growth and recognising how much I have grown by my line manager. I also recieve support from the apprenticeship team to find rotations and help me develop as well opportunities outside work to help me develop such as the AAN
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have quartly reviews with our skills coaches were we outlines goals to hit KSBs, discuss progression towards the other goals from our last meetings. We discuss academic work and if there is any issues I may be struggling with.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that I am learning things that tie in with my work very nicely such as technology and operations management - my current role in supply is always adapting and changing technology and so it helps me understand and manage the change better. I have become more proficient at stakeholder management and building collaborative relationships.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My work are part of the AAN and host conferences with guest speakers and development sessions. There are running clubs that go running on a lunch and crafting clubs every week at lunch.

Yes
Why?
I have received support in my development, gained experience and learnt from professionals who have been in their fields for years as well as with the business for years. I have the opportunity to discover "hidden" careers across a range of departmants.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ASDA?
To be yourself and draw upon your experiences whether it was volunteering in school or your choice of study, if you do extracurriculars why what id you get from it. Research the companies missions and goals and align them with your own targets and goals.
