Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am in Commercial which is split into Contracts and Estimating and we do 2 placements in each across the business. Day to day I attend meetings, shadow managers and complete tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I like the fact we have 4 placements lasting 6 months each in different areas across the business. It makes me a well rounded individual and will massively help me when exiting into the business

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, my interpersonal skills and communication has improved massively as I interact with different stakeholders everyday. By doing this I naturally learn me about the organisation and their roles. I have also become more confident as individual as I have had to step outside my comfort zone and moves roles and meet new people.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is clearly laid out right from our intro into the company what the 2 years will look like which I appreciate as I know what to expect. So its very well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

So much support from the company as a whole putting training in pace to our managers and skills coaches. As well in our company so many people started off as apprentices so they have been through it so are great at understanding.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

It makes me actively improve and demonstrate key behaviours which you need to succeed and take with you as you go through the business.

So many networking events, and conferences. Charity events, teams that host talks etc. So much to get involved with

Why?
Incredible company with so much room to develop, grow and progress.. Also, so many areas to push yourself out your comfort zone and the support that goes into helping you develop is amazing.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Do you research on the company make sure you have a good basic understanding in what it is they do and offer. But also make sure you understand the role you are actually applying for.
