My day-to-day includes management tasks, syncing with my project team and keeping on top of things within our reporting cycle - there's never a dull day!

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love working at BAE, my scheme has lead me to work with people who genuinely want to see me succeed and grow, both as an individual and as a professional, and I'm treated like any other normal person on the team; not just 'the apprentice'.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learnt a lot about life-cycle management, having difficult conversations, management techniques in the way the business prefers it and how to set goals and accountabilities for people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme within BAE is very structured, the apprenticeship scheme is done by a third party.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is very supportive for the needs of my apprenticeship, and my local team I work with endeavour to find tasks to help me hit my goals.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

It is done remotely by a third party, so not much.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am doing a CMI alongside my apprenticeship, which will come in handy in my role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are, but as I work fully remotely, they are not applicable.

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?

Yes

Why?

They are the most supportive employer I have ever had, and my personal cirumstances has never gotten in the way of me doing my job to the best of my abilitiy with the support of my employer.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?

Age is not a factor! A lot of people see apprenticeships and assume you need to be in your late teens/early 20's, and this is absolutely not the case!
