Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
the current role that i am in isn't something that i seem to enjoy, i seem to just be doing the admin work for the team and this wasn't what i was brought into to, we also had our placements changed from 4 month to 6 months so this then is taking 2 placements off us in the three years. they didn't talk to us about this and just did it.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
i enjoyed it to begin with however how time has gone by i seem to be more stressed and there is no communication from the team to apprentices. we have given feedback and this still doesn't seem to be getting us anywhere. we are always being messed around with placements and work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
i have learnt some new skills while being in this apprenticeship. there have been some good learning opportunities however they are very scares.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
there is not a great structure to the scheme once you have left first year. placements that don't exist anymore are being given to people and placements that have no training opportunities are also given.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
there has been some support, like mental health wise however to do with the work we seems to be stuck in a corner with the feedback and help we are given.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
we get some support for learning and training.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
in the first year it was more leant towards a more manufacturing skills however being a technician it was a skill i have but cant use in my day to day work and am having to learn from scratch because we didn't get taught a lot of what we needed to be a technician in the first year.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
there are some networking events however they are hard to get information about.

Recommendations & Advice

Yes
Why?
it is good money for an apprenticeship and it is good to see different parts of the business, you will learn some new skills and find friends for life.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
be prepared for communication to ber poor sometimes and make sure you read up on the work before you go into it so you understand that it is not the same as any other company.
