Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I engage in multiple marketing channels such as social media, email, events, brochures, websites. I currently sit in the international team and work on portfolio magazine, events for our clients, our global social media and smaller tasks that involve working with our creative services team snd constant communication both within my team and the wider business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme I think it is a great way for me to gain a higher qualification whilst getting hands on experience in a really good well established company. I am well looked after and guided through this process with maximum support.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Definitely, my communication skills have sky rocketed which has ultimately really helped my team working skills. I have been given opportunities to develop my leadership skills as well as numerical and data driven skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is well structured, I have had a six month rotation to benefit my learning experience and gain as many skills as possible around all aspects of marketing. Organisation falls off slightly as I am the first apprentice in my team so I understand it is hard to navigate and appreciate everyone else is learning this process along with me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer supports my apprenticeship fully, I am constantly being checked on to ensure I am happy and up to date with my work. I have regular one to ones and communication is extremely good across all aspects of my work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider is great. I have regular one to one and catch ups with them. They are understanding when work life gets heavy and things are missed and do their best to ensure they can support me in ensuring I do not fall behind.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am confident my qualification will help me perform better in my role as I am constantly learning new skills and information about marketing that I can apply in my everyday job role. This consistantly happens both inside my training provider and outside as I have to complete a certain number of off the job hours.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I actually now run the social committee at my company we participate in social events, sports activities, quiz nights, holiday celebrations, promotional drinks, client events.

It’s a well established organisation that ensures you will have a job at the end of your apprenticeship which creates stability and helps you build good relationships and connections.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
Be yourself! Don’t let anyone tell you to be a certain way or act different because that’s what employers are looking for. At the end of the day you are going to be in that role for a long time and won’t be able to keep that act up forever. People love authenticity and your personality and characteristics will be seen as beneficial to Savills.
