Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a Service Charge Accounts Apprentice I validate invoices and also check their accuracy. I create budget lists which contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities. I also ensure data accuracy for financial reporting which all directly impact the production of financial statements and help the company meet its strategic goals.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy it alot!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Working in service charge accounting has helped me build solid skills in things like budgeting, reconciliations, and reporting. I’ve gained a good understanding of service charges and improved my attention to detail

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is really well organised, which made it easy to link what I was learning at work with what I was studying. I was able to apply the knowledge almost on a daily basis, which helped everything make more sense and really strengthened my understanding.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employers have been really supportive throughout, especially with being flexible around my studies. There’s always been support available when needed, with different platforms and people to turn to if you’re struggling. Having helpful and approachable line managers has made a big difference too and created a really positive environment to learn and develop.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider has been a huge help throughout my apprenticeship. She’s really easy to get on with and always happy to have one‑to‑one sessions on any topics I’m struggling to understand.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification through my training provider has helped me perform much better in my role. The topics covered link closely to my day‑to‑day work, which means I can apply what I’m learning almost immediately. This has helped strengthen my understanding, improve my confidence, and allowed me to carry out tasks more accurately and efficiently.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a lot of professional networking events available, with more based in London than Birmingham. While these can be really beneficial, commuting and finding the time can be difficult at times, especially alongside studying and revising for exams. That said, there are plenty of activities and sports opportunities available, which makes it easy to get involved, stay active.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Savills to a friend because of the strong opportunities available, the supportive systems in place, and the people I work with. The company is genuinely supportive when it comes to helping you reach your goals, and there’s a real focus on making sure everyone has the chance to do well and develop.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
My advice to anyone applying to Savills would be to stay curious and give it 100% from day one. Don’t forget to network and speak to as many people as you can, as everyone is very friendly and willing to help. Learn as much as possible, don’t shy away from opportunities, use them to showcase what you’re capable of. Taking initiative and being open to learning really makes a difference here.
