job role - Structural welder
my job role involves setting up all of the equipment i need in the morning, getting it ready for the day and making sure all equipment i will be using has a calibration date on the gas lines, suitcase and rectifier. this means can check the dates and make sure the equipment i need is safe to use and in date.
After all of this has been checked i can start welding.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

the programme is a great opportunity for me to enhance skills such as communication, confidence and collaboration. it is something that i enjoy doing and i have gained a great interest in welding since starting my apprentership.

my apprentership is very well organised/structured, you can get help from skills coaches whenever you need it. you will be talked through how to complete a job and what is expected, skills coaches will come into your bay if you need extra help to show you an exapmle of how to do it.
