Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working on service charge budgets, budget reports and reconciliation reports. Reading through leases to determine repair responsibilities and to check rents, rent review dates and break option dates. Contacting tenants to collect rent and service charge arrears, and to provide them with updated policies. I went to a number of site visits, to carry out inspections.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I have contact tenants directly regarding arrears, updated policies and other queries and I have completed a number of budget and reconciliation reports and updated tenancy schedules. Through networking events, I have also met a number of directors, who have given me advice and guidance to continue my career in real estate.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have learnt a lot during my internship, especially having not studied real estate before, including reading a lease, interpret service charge budgets and expenditure and tenancy schedules, and completing reports. During the month I spent at Savills, I have met people from many areas of the business, expanding my knowledge of the services offered by Savills, and improving my interpersonal and networking skills.
