As a Site Lead Physiologist, I am responsible for the clinical leadership, operational delivery, and quality assurance of physiological services at site level. The role combines advanced clinical practice with leadership, governance, and service development to ensure safe, effective, and patient‑centred care.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The apprenticeship program was fantastic for me as I was relatively new to the position it helped guide me through different processes in my role which improved my confidence. I have since signed upto a Level 5 apprenticeship in Operational Management.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was really organised each week I had specific learning to complete on the Aptem platform. Alongside this I would have monthly webinars with my cohort which allowed me to apply my knowledge in a practical way.
I had monthly 121 meetings with my lifetime coach which helped me when completing my end point assessment as we had collected information for my portfolio of evidence.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I was always given enough protected time for my apprenticeship. Each week I had one day off diary from seeing patients so I could complete the required learning.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I had regular feedback from my coach on what I needed to work towards and how I could achieve my End Point assessment goal.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The learning I have gathered has helped me transition into being the Site Lead Physiologist for the Leeds Health Screening Team at Nuffield. I manage 6 members of staff which includes physiologists and doctors.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We regularly get involved with charity work for the hospital. This will include helping out at Local events such as the Roundhay running event in March where we promote our services and help answer questions people may have.
