Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Updating engineering drawings and correcting errors as they arise.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The job is good and you get to work for an interesting company, but the delivery of the HNC left room for improvement but ultimately gets the job done in an effective way.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
It depends on where in the company you end up spending your time, some teams are better than others in terms of supporting people in their education. There's always help available, just some places might have more help on hand.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think the HNC is good but it doesn't provide all the skill needed for most people. There are gaps within the training provided that might give you the absolute minimum but a lot of additional training will be done by the individual teams while being on the job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe it is a good company to work for with plenty of opportunities to move and grow. In a world of unstable job security, being able to work at a company that looks after its employees and seems to want to hold onto them is rare.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Just be yourself in the interview
