Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
electronics, soldering, problem solving, maths, hands on learning for the majority of the time.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
i really enjoy it, everyone is so friendly, encourage self improvement along with improvement within the course, hands on learning instead of theory that you cant practically relate to.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
electrical calculations, improved soldering skills along with teamwork and communication with other people within the work place.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
well organised however there are periods where we had no assignments at all and then lots of assignments handed out and when all the resubs are handed out all the work to do at home gets pilled up. when you live with your parents it can be difficult to adjust and move some of family time into doing assignments instead.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
we communicate via email and get visits every once in a while they are supportive and understanding and help us with life outside of the apprenticeship for example mini side courses teaching us about cars and driving, what incidents will get us points on our licence. stuff that you wouldn't normally get taught.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
tutors are very approachable, they will make sure you understand what's being taught before moving on.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
allows me to make mistakes now and understand where i went wrong so i can improve my skills to allow myself to perform better in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
there are lots of active and social opportunities. there is something for everyone.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
theres something there for everyone, very supportive, into personal development and aim to care for their employees not just pay them.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
just be yourself, BAE will want you for who you are not what a sheet of grades say you are.
what i mean by this is yes there is a grade criteria to be met however it is low so as long as you pass they'll then start to look at who you are rather than hire those with the highest grades.
