Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Alongside on‑site work, I contribute to desktop research, due diligence processes, and the preparation of documents for clients. My role also includes coordinating with internal teams, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all work aligns with professional standards and timelines.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have also developed strong analytical and research skills, particularly through contributing to technical due diligence work, reviewing documentation, and assisting with desktop assessments. My communication skills have improved through working closely with senior surveyors, engaging with clients, and presenting information clearly and professionally.
In addition, I have enhanced my organisation, time management, and attention to detail by managing tasks, keeping accurate notes, and balancing on‑the‑job learning with programme requirements. Overall, I feel I have made substantial progress in building the core competencies needed for a successful career in surveying.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
The structure allows me to build skills gradually while still being challenged, and the combination of practical experience, study days, and support from my team means I always feel guided in the right direction. Overall, the programme feels well thought out, supportive, and effective in helping me grow as an aspiring surveyor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
I am also supported academically, with time set aside for study, access to relevant resources, and encouragement to balance my workload effectively. Overall, the support I receive is consistent, positive, and tailored to helping me succeed both in my apprenticeship and in my long‑term career as a surveyor.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
The structured learning sessions, regular check-ins, and constructive feedback all contribute to keeping me on track with my studies. I feel that the training provider genuinely wants me to succeed, and the support I receive helps me stay motivated, organised, and confident as I progress through the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
The structured modules, assignments, and learning resources also encourage me to think critically and develop my analytical skills, which supports my performance in areas like technical due diligence and desktop research. Overall, the qualification adds valuable context, improves my decision‑making, and helps me grow into a more capable and well‑rounded surveyor.
