I am a BAE Systems Degree Apprentice, combining academic study with practical, hands‑on experience in a professional engineering environment. My role focuses on learning how complex systems are designed, tested, integrated, and supported, while contributing to team activities under guidance from experienced colleagues.
On a day‑to‑day basis, I support engineering and technical teams with a range of tasks that help keep projects moving forward. This can include assisting with system testing and analysis, reviewing technical documentation, supporting troubleshooting activities, and taking part in meetings or design discussions. Alongside this, I balance workplace responsibilities with university study, applying academic learning directly to real‑world problems. The role is varied, providing continuous opportunities to develop technical skills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot. The combination of academic study and practical experience is rewarding, and applying what I learn in a real working environment has supported my development.
