Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Performing and checking actuarial calculations and ensuring the product clients receive maintains a high standard .
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was treated as a colleague so I was given lots of responsibility after training so I was definitely able to get first hand experience of being an actuary.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Effective communication-there are always opportunities to communicate with a wide range of individuals on a daily basis so by attending the office regularly I was able to develop this skill.
I also developed my Microsoft office skills due to frequent training on use of the applications.
Leadership/Organisational skills- I was given many opportunities to develop these including organising a training event for senior professionals.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
There is a very good company culture and atmosphere, interns are treated like colleagues and invited to various social events. Everyone is happy to stop and have a conversation with You about their role or to assist you with a task. It’s a lovely place to work.
