Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Overall insight into global banking, including technical training and a variety of networking opportunities. Consisted of 4 days, including insights from various departments and employees.

How would you rate the structure of the insight

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Being able to receive a first hand insight from professionals who contribute to this work on a daily basis was extremely helpful and interesting. It also gave me a much greater understanding on where I want to aim my career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Technical training in various valuation methods was extremely useful and relatively new to me. Also, the different insights on each division developed my understanding of the work involved across the bank. I would say my abilities in excel and also my ability to network and communicate have been strengthened throughout.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

At the bank there was very much a lack of ego’s and the culture was that of teamwork and collaboration towards an aligned goal of maximising potential, sustainably. People are seen as an investment and striving for success across all divisions is at the heart of the bank.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

Very much so, I learnt new skills and developed my prior understanding. I feel more confident in applying relevant skills and I have increased my network. The leaders of this opportunity were extremely supportive and welcoming throughout and everyone present was happy to answer any questions.
