Spring Intern Review

A day-to-day basis involved arriving at 8.30 AM for check-in, followed by various kinds of workshops, trainings, and insightful speeches, ending around 5.30 PM for the first three days.

It was very enlightening in the sense that it went into depth about the different varieties of roles available under investment banking and what the structure of such roles look like. To hear these experiences firsthand from people that have valuable insights during the speeches helped me understand the roles on a personal level.

I have developed my technical skills regarding investment banking to a large extent. The technical training helped upgrade my understanding of technicals from a surface level to a much more improved level. The networking and soft skills training was also very educative and engaging. The trainers were absolutely excellent at their jobs, providing an immersive learning experience.

The company culture was welcoming and warm, which captured my attention from the first second that I walked in. Every encounter I had with BNP’s team happened to be positive, welcoming, and often times included humor. This helped me get over my initial intimidation right away, and made me feel comfortable and safe within the environment. I felt comfortable speaking to the team, and conversations often times included laughter. The cultural diversity also made me feel more comfortable as an international student.

It was a very enjoyable experience, I got to meet so many interesting people with great insights and this was an amazing learning opportunity.

I would tell them to not be intimidated and be comfortable showing their personalities because the culture is very welcoming.
