Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves a wide range of tasks which is great as it means I do not get bored at work because I have a variety of tasks to work through. As accounts assistant at Highbury Homes some of my main tasks include, updating the supplier ledger with invoices and credit notes as well as setting up bank payments to clear our accounts with them. I also monitor the company credit card statements which involved posting the transactions and then reconciling the statements once they are finished.
In the past I have dealt a lot with CIS deductions which is great as it helped me to widen my knowledge, I am lucky as this is not something that every accounting apprentice will get to learn, especially if they don't subcontract work that falls into the CIS scheme.
Those are some of the bigger more time consuming tasks that I do, but some smaller tasks I do are the petty cash tin, filing away, processing customer invoices, chasing debt etc.
Like I said at the start, my job role included so much variety for me and my team that we have the flexibility to circle the tasks around which keeps the job exciting as we are not sat doing the same tasks all day everyday.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt every skill I know about being an accounts assistant at Highbury. When I joined I was introduced to Sage 50 which is the programme that we use for the majority of our work, now after almost 3 years I can say that I am 100% confident in using sage. I have also majorly improved on my telephone skills since working at Highbury which is great as this was something I had always struggled with/been nervous about.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well organised, they are a very supportive company. They are great at organisation, everything is so thoroughly thought through. We work very well as a team so if anything ever becomes too much for one person there is always someone willing to help out and take the load off. We have future plans always so that we never miss/forget about things which allows us to keep organised and stops us from becoming stressed or overwhelmed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive immense amounts of support from my employ. They always offer help on the topics I am studying in college, they have brough in personal books for me to use to help me gain further knowledge if necessary. I am granted time during my work hours to study for upcoming exams which is a huge help. When my exams re coming up they ensure that I prioritise my studying so that I get the best possible result.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The support from my training provider is great, they make time for every individual student and never leave a question unanswered. They are so supportive and even reply to email queries regarding homework or revision outside of college hours.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification delivery from my training provider allows me to perform better in my job role because it makes me feel confident. It allows me to give information out to external parties that I am confident is correct and it also allows me to assist one of my other colleagues who is currently studying Level 2 Accounting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
My company take part in events every so often the most common one they do is charity golf matches. I do not partake in these as I do not play golf. They have also previously done walks/runs to raise money for charities.
