Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
We make first contact with the customer, arrange site visits, obtain information necessary to create designs and plans for the customer. Quotation packs are generated and communicated with the customer.
The customer could be a home owner, a developer, a business etc. and each would have their own requirements and needs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Being brought into the company along with other apprentices, being part of a group making the experience much more enjoyable and less daunting.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have also learnt so much about the power network and how important / integral it is to society.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
I have offered some feedback already to improve the timing of some training sessions to allow more time after the training to practice what has been learnt.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
I am surrounded by colleagues who are approachable and supportive, any questions I have I can air and someone will answer. I have a mentor within depot who actively looks to improve my time here, pushing tasks my way, giving me hints and tips.
I have a training assessor who is always happy to help and run through any concerns I have with any of the training topics. A manager and team leader who are very supportive both in and outside of work. A safeguarding team who are available to contact with any non work related concerns.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
