Alongside my studies, I apply what I’m learning in a real project environment, supporting daily delivery activities including scheduling, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. This experience allows me to develop practical project management skills while strengthening my organisation, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my apprenticeship programme overall. Vodafone does a great job of keeping young people engaged, with plenty of company events, networks, and opportunities to get involved, which helps create a strong sense of community. Despite being part of a large organisation, I’ve learned the importance of being proactive in seeking out work and learning opportunities, which has helped me take ownership of my development and make the most of the programme.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

have developed a wide range of new skills while also strengthening existing ones. In particular, I have improved my stakeholder communication by becoming more confident in engaging with different teams and adapting my communication style to suit different audiences. I have also grown in taking ownership of my role, feeling more comfortable taking initiative and responsibility for my tasks. Alongside this, the programme has helped me better understand my own working style, including how I organise my work, manage my time, and approach problem‑solving, which has supported my overall development as a project manager.

While I have had many positive experiences on the programme, I feel that there could be more consistent support from line managers. As a large organisation, it often requires a high level of proactivity to stay involved and secure meaningful work, and additional guidance or check‑ins would help ensure apprentices remain engaged and supported in their development.

Vodafone offers a wide range of activities and events that support engagement, particularly for early careers. These include company-wide events, networking opportunities, and youth‑focused initiatives that help build a strong sense of community. There are also interactive groups and committees that allow employees to contribute ideas, collaborate across teams, and get involved outside of their day‑to‑day role. Much of this is shared and coordinated through Vodafone’s internal social media platform, making it easy to stay informed and take part.
