Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

At Roxane UK we produce water bottles for the country I work closely with other Maintenance Engineers making sure all machines run smoothly, and I help to fix breakdowns when needed. In particular i work on High Pressure Compressors, Dryers and Generators providing compressed air and energy for all our other machines.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed the time i have spent at Roxane UK and have learned a lot in the process, i look forward to spending more years here once my apprenticeship is finished.

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I am at the final few months of my apprenticeship and over the years i was able to spend time with different sides of the engineering team, from maintenance to automation. I would spend 6 months to a year with a different mentor learning new knowledge and skills. This has also helped me find the place that suits my skills best for after the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has given me many opportunities throughout the apprenticeship with other additional training to help my development. They also allow for me to spend time completing my assessments and projects while on site.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have been trained off site by experienced lecturers who supported me in completing the apprenticeship,
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have built my skills on lathes and millers while at college which has helped me for my role when needing to make any parts for my colleagues.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Over the years there has been many activities available to the employees such as participating or volunteering to help at The Great Northern Run and also many other big walks around the country. I have also been to watch football matches with Roxane UK of which one of the teams we sponsor. Additionally, as Roxane UKs parent company is French, hundreds of employees including all the apprentices have been given the opportunity to go to our yearly meeting in France and spend the weekend in Le Mans. This is a great experience and i have attended it 3 times so far.

Yes
Why?
Because over the years i have spent here, they have continued to support my development as a person and as an Engineer, and helped to show me what i want from my future as a maintenance engineer.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Roxane UK?
Research what the company does and learn about it first, there's many roles involved with engineering here so be open minded.
