Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Emotional support: Offering companionship, encouragement, and reassurance
Daily living support: Helping with shopping, cooking, cleaning, and managing routines
Health support: Monitoring wellbeing, administering or prompting medication (where trained), and reporting concerns
Promoting independence: Encouraging individuals to make choices and develop life skills
Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals
Communication: Working with families, healthcare professionals, and other services.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
In addition, I have developed my patience, confidence, and ability to work as part of a team. Overall, the programme has helped me grow both professionally and personally, making me more effective in my role as a support worker.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
I receive regular support and guidance from my supervisors and assessors, which helps me develop my skills and confidence.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
My assessor is approachable and available to answer questions, which helps me stay on track and understand what is required. The support I receive makes it easier to manage my workload and build confidence in completing my qualifications.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
The learning I gain through my training provider can be applied directly to my daily work, which improves my confidence and ability to handle different situations. It also helps me understand best practices and follow correct procedures
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
These activities provide a good opportunity to connect with colleagues, build stronger working relationships, and create a positive work environment.
While there may not be many sports teams or formal networking events, the social interactions and occasional workplace activities still contribute to team spirit and staff wellbeing
