Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working on different projects, can involve work with data using excel, or creating dashboards and reports using Power BI
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Very enjoyable learning a lot of new things. Whilst at the same time working an interesting job at a large global company. However, occasionally, was tricky to apply the learnings on the course to everyday work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Lots. From Data modelling and visualisations, to programming languages such as Python and SQL. Which I had no experience of before. On top of what I learnt on the course, I have also learnt a lot of business and finance acumen from the day to day workings in a corporate role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Clear structure from the start, you are shown the roadmap of how the course will pan out. Usually it is roughly one module per month, and at the end of each module you submit a small assignment/piece of work, these will all eventually make up your portfolio of evidence. Then at end of the course you start your EPA which includes your work based project.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Very flexible with study days including extra time to work on apprenticeship tasks if needed. Can also offer extra resources to help you learn.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Instructors deliver the live module lessons, in which you can ask some questions. You also are put into a smaller "pod" with other students, and receive a Coach who can help you more directly and give 1-2-1 support with any issues you may have. They also have a lot of resources you can download and use throughout the course, as well as extra resources should you need them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I would be unable to perform my role without the knowledge I have gained on the course.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are, however I feel this will depend on the function/department you end up in. You can be doing the exact same programme as another apprentice, but will likely be placed in different teams. Therefore your experience at the company throughout the course can be very different.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Large global company. Will learn a lot and meet a lot of people. It is good exposure
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Try to make the most out of your experience, ask lots of questions. Be aware the company is massive and it can be overwhelming. Imposter syndrome is common as you will be working with a lot of people in lots of different roles, who all seem to know more than you!
